Tryout Results Day 1

Thanks to all who came to tryouts today.  If your name is on the list below, you have been selected to return to the second day of tryouts-tomorrow, Thursday, February 27th.  10th-12th Grades will begin at 2:45, and 9th grade players as soon as you can get there after school (3:30 at the latest).  Weather permitting, we will be on the field again-if not, we will be in the gym.

2014 Copper Hills Baseball Tryouts

Tryouts for the 2014 Spring Team are coming up very soon.   Tryouts will be held in both gyms at CHHS.  The times listed below are tryout START times, not arrival times.  Players should arrive early so that they can stretch and get warmed up.  We are on a tight schedule and if they are not ready to go at start time, they will NOT be able to tryout.  No parents are to attend tryouts. 

ELIGIBILITY You must verify your player’s eligibility before coming to tryouts.  Eligibility requirements can be found on the UHSAA website at www.uhsaa.org.   Academic eligibility is:  minimum GPA is 2.0 and no more than 1 "F" on their 2^nd Qtr report card (not cumulative GPA).  All 9th grade players MUST present a 2^nd Qtr report card (HARD COPY) on the first day of tryouts.  You will not be allowed to tryout if this GPA & other grade requirements are not met and/or you do not provide a copy. –NO EXCEPTIONS.  This is your responsibility to verify all eligibility PRIOR to tryouts.

TRYOUT CHECKLIST Your player MUST have a Tryout Checklist.  Complete, sign and bring to first day of tryouts or you will NOT be eligible to tryout.  You can download this checklist here: Tryout Checklist

DISCLOSURE
If you have not already done so, read and sign the attached 2014 disclosure statement in the email that was sent out and return the last page with your player to tryouts.  If you are unsure if we have a signed copy, please email Booster club and they will verify.   The disclosure outlines required and optional fees that will be due by March 4^th for those selected for the team.  If you have not raised funds you will be responsible for payment in full of all optional fees (if applicable).  The required fees are paid directly to the school and cannot be covered by fundraising.

PHYSICALS

Although a physical is not required to tryout, it is required once a player is chosen for a High School team and before they can play.  Historically RPT has had a courtesy day to perform physicals for our players AFTER tryouts.  However, this year they are scheduled to come on Wednesday, February 19^th @ 6:00pm at the school.  If you choose to take advantage of this option ($25 Cash) it does not influence your player’s chances of making the team either way and no refunds will be provided should your player not make the team. You must bring FORM A completed and signed by a parent to give consent to RPT ( click to download Form A They will then turn in the form to Coach Morgan. If you choose to get a physical elsewhere, you will need to have FORM A completed by both a parent and the physician and returned to us by March 6^th (an option may be to schedule an appointment with your family Doctor for the week after tryouts and cancel if a physical is not needed).  We apologize for the inconvenience, but are at the mercy of their schedule.  If you have already completed a physical for this school year and the athletic director has one on file, you will need to complete FORM B instead and turn in after tryouts.

WHAT TO BRING TO FIRST DAY OF TRYOUTS :Copy of 2^nd Quarter Report Card (9^th grade)
Tryout Checklist- Completed in full & Signed by both player and a parent
Signed Disclosure-if not already complete

TRYOUTS Names of players continuing on will be posted at www.copperhillsbaseball.blogspot.com after 9pm each night until the final team is selected (either Thurs or Fri).  Only if your name is listed should you return the following night.

Wednesday, February 26^th      10^th-12^th Grade:   Immediately After School
     9^th Grade:  5:00pm

Thursday, February 27^th (for those players selected to continue)
      10^th-12^th Grade:  During 4^th Period
      9^th Grade:  3:30pm

Friday, February 28th (for those players selected to continue-ONLY if needed)
     10^th-12^th Grade:   Immediately After School
     9^th Grade:  5:00pm

FINAL TEAM SHOULD BE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE BY 9PM FRIDAY (if not sooner)

Auction Dinner coming up soon!

Auction Ticket Pickup & Tryout Information-Parent meeting 9th-12th grades

December 16th 7pm in Choir room @ CHHS (enter East doors, turn right).

Parent meeting to discuss winter workouts, auction details, pick up auction tickets to sell (for those that do not have a player in 4th period-or for those that didn't get them), and get tryout details (dates/times/eligibility/required forms).  Please let us know if you prefer to pick up the tickets yourself vs. giving to your player in 4th period.

Players are asked to sell a minimum of 10 tickets (each member of a family does not have to have a physical ticket-just make sure all names are written on your RSVP list you turn in with the money collected-they will check in upon arrival).  Also, all are asked to donate at least one auction item valued at $50 or more.  Refer to Disclosure Statement for fundraising breakdowns of both tickets & auction items.

We will also have merchandise available for purchase...and hoping to have new items available in time!!
